The Learning Lab

The Learning Lab is currently seeking research assistants

Research Projects

The Learning Lab at Columbia University is seeking a part-time research assistant beginning September 2022 to work 10-15 hours per week. The research study uses functional brain imaging to investigate how the human brain develops during adolescence to support learning and memory. The research assistant will help with participant recruitment, behavioral testing, and MRI scanning. There will also be opportunities to learn coding, statistical analysis, and data visualization. The research assistant is invited to join weekly lab meetings and seminars. Because we work with children and adolescents, we are looking for someone who can help out on late afternoons/evenings and weekends. A background check and protection of minors training may be required. We are able to provide course credit or hourly compensation. Prior research experience is not necessary to apply, but we will prioritize applicants who have experience working with youth. We strongly encourage individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds to apply. To apply, please fill out this form. If you have any questions about the application or the position, please contact Dr. Katie Insel at .

Full Time Position Available

The Learning Lab at Columbia University is also seeking a full-time research assistant beginning as early as Summer 2022. The ideal candidate would have an undergraduate degree (BA or equivalent) and significant experience with at least one of the following: running research studies with human subjects, statistical analysis, and/or computer programming. If you think your background would be a good fit, please complete the online application. Please send any questions to Dr. Daniel Kimmel at . Thank you for your interest.
